Part 6 of 12 things my true love said to me By Sabine Adeyinka (RDM Contributor)

Today is her birthday (special day) and I can’t express how proud I am of Sabine; her wits, demeanor, passion and teachable spirit are all traits I have observed for many years. Here’s hoping your your day is rich, blessed and fulfilling. Wishing you the very best today and always.

Thanks for sharing your gift with us.
God bless,

Hope you have been following the series? If not, catch up on Part 5, here

Here’s the next in the 12 Part series…

"On the eve of my daughter’s sports day, I read the story of Peppa Pig’s Sports day to both my kids. The theme running though the story was, ‘its not the winning that matters but the taking part’. At the end of the story, my three year-old son looked at me and said, ‘But the winning matters too.’

It is important to keep sight of the full message.

God’s message to us says in 1 Timothy 4.8: For Physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present and the life to come.It means that your relationship with GOD is the most important thing in life but it also says that physical training aka ‘exercise’ also has value.

The sixth thing my true love said to me is this: Take care of your body

I am learning to take this as a commandment not a suggestion and I am trying to apply it to all aspects of my body. It isn’t just about being fit. It is also about what you eat, personal hygiene and how much rest you have.

Someone once said her favourite drink was Fanta but no matter how much she loved it, she wouldn’t drink it from the toilet. Point taken. You have a beautiful spirit and a wonderful attitude but you won’t exercise, eat right, sleep early or floss twice a day.

One step at a time.

When I started to do this, I stumbled several times, but like the sun I have decided to get up every morning and keep trying.

Start here:

  • Get at least 7 hours sleep
  • Floss/ brush your teeth twice a day
  • Go for a 20-minute light jog three times a week
  • Drink 6 cups of water
  • Lay low on the sugar
