I stumbled on an article on YAHOO SHINE yesterday and it caught my attention and read like a good experiment for Relationships Do Matter (RDM) readers and subscribers. More on that later, perhaps.
However, according to the post, the author Alisa Bowman’s focus was to understand and capture salients habits of the happiest couple. A preposition I found interesting, more insight better living hopefully.
So this experiment was simply to capture what the happiest couples do “first" in the morning that other couples don’t do? In one of Alisa’s recent post, where she interviewed Laura Vanderkam, author of What the Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast, one learns the importance of rituals and routines, especially in the morning. As busy parents she posit, morning is the time of day most under our control, and it’s a great time to devote to enriching one’s relationships.
Creating a morning ritual doesn’t take a lot of time and effort, either she says.
So how do successful couples spend their mornings? Here are 8 habits from a selected focus group of successful relationship experts and authors (with fantastic marriages). Let me know what you think.
- Do Something Just for your Spouse.
- Create a Ritual
- Schedule a Coffee Hour
- Eat Breakfast Together
- Wake Up with a Kiss
- Have Coffee in Bed
- Wish Your Spouse Happiness
So what will you add to the list?
